Meet Jolene Reddy, Founder of Reddy Legal.

I am an experienced criminal defence lawyer based in Auckland. At Reddy Legal we focus on ensuring every client is treated with personalised, dedicated support, never as just a number.

Facing a criminal charge can be one of the most stressful and overwhelming experiences in a person’s life. My role as your lawyer is not only to defend you, but to support you through a process that can feel confusing, intimidating, and often deeply personal.

I bring a wealth of experience across a broad range of criminal work, including serious violence, serious sexual offences, jury trials, judge-alone trials, and the lower level criminal matters that still have a major impact on people’s lives. This variety of work has given me a deep understanding of the system and the pressures individuals face as they move through it. 

My approach is simple: you deserve to be heard, respected, and treated like a human being — not a case number. I take the time to explain things clearly, listen to your concerns, and guide you so you always understand what’s happening and what it means. Clients often tell me I make a difficult process feel less frightening, and that matters to me. Family and faith are important to me, so I understand how stressful it can be to make decisions that affect not just yourself, but your family and your everyday life. 

I have a broad range of experience across several areas of legal practice. I began my career at an immigration firm in the Auckland CBD before moving to the Department of Corrections, where I worked first as a probation officer and later as an in-court prosecutor. I then spent a substantial period with the Public Defence Service, ultimately serving as Senior Lawyer and Legal Team Manager. 

I completed my master’s degree specialising in criminal law, and I use my knowledge and experience to stand up for you with confidence, determination, and care. In court, I fight hard. Outside of court, I am approachable, understanding, and easy to talk to.

I am diligent, responsive, and fully committed to supporting you through every stage of your case. My focus is always on you — your rights, your wellbeing, and your future.
